Have a Happy and Safe Halloween from Us at USMA!

Thursday, October 31st, 2013

U.S. Martial Arts would like to wish everyone a Happy and Safe Halloween! Please take the proper precaution when being out for the Trick or Treat strolling.

-Stay close to a guardian or relative while walking around.
-Be mindful of your surroundings including oncoming car traffic.
-Save your candy to eat for when you get home. This way there is enough light to open and investigate each piece being safe for ingestion.
-Have fun!!!

We expect our Do-Jang to be quiet today and tomorrow because of candy joy. So we hope you enjoy and see you soon!

Congratulations to Our Students Who Tested & the Demonstration Team in the Oct. Testing

Friday, October 18th, 2013

Congratulations to all those who tested today! Wonderful results considering all the work put into the month to make it happen! Great job!

We would like to thank the demonstration team and their families for their inspiration and motivation to our students during testing! (In Alphabetical Order) Gianmarco Alegre, Francis Alo, Frederick Alo, Syndey Durrance, Arianna Norberto, Justin Persad, Jayvien Pinnock did an excellent job for their demonstration! They came in for two weekends (4 days total, 9 hours altogether) to make this happen! Our parents and students were impressed with their performance of Rhythmic Kicking, Jang Bong, Nunchaks, and Breaking!

Also a special thank you to Master Maria Zavalakos for coordinating the demonstration and 3rd Dan Black Belt Alexis Durrance for assisting Master Maria in this collaboration. They both worked hard to coordinate with the students and make it fun for everyone!

For the helpers during testing: (Alphabetical Order) Gianmarco Alegre, Alexis Durrance, Sebastian Kirby, Mr. Jorge Mazariegos, Mr. Jason Norberto…thank you for holding targets/boards, and mainly supporting our students! Not only is it great experience but it shows how we are family and support one another!

Thank you to our Judges Master Robert and Master Maria Zavalakos! We appreciate your continued commitment and dedication to our school and students!

For those who are testing tomorrow, we wish you the best of luck! May you have the energy and vigor that we saw from the children and teens today!

Congratulations to Our Adults on their October Testing!

Friday, October 18th, 2013

Congratulations to all the higher belts and adults who tested today! Especially to Mr.Franck, Mr.Jason, and Mr.John who have come a long way to achieving their 1st Dan Black Belt! Also to Gianmarco for achieving his 2nd Dan Black Belt! These gentlemen all broke a slab of concrete to complete their checkpoint in their martial art experience thus far!

We would like to thank the parents, wives, husbands, children, family, and friends who have supported all who tested this evening. It is our own dedication that motivates us to come to class, but it is our loved ones who make it worth the while to work ourselves towards our goals! Much respect to all those who were present snapping pictures and taking videos of those testing! They are the best motivators, besides our Grandmaster and Masters, that a person can have!

For the helpers during testing: Mr.Jorge Mazariegos, Mr.Timmy Nguyen, and also the adults who held boards even though they themselves were testing: Mr.Franck, Mr.Jason, Mr.John. Great job and wonderful dedication!

Thank you to our Judges Master Robert and Master Maria Zavalakos! They took the time to be there for the adults and higher belts and as always we thank them for their commitment!

Belts will be given out on Monday and throughout the next week! We wish you the best results and look forward to training with you in class next week!

Master Kathleen is in Town!

Monday, October 7th, 2013

We had an amazing visit today! Master Kathleen, from Boston, came during the 6:30pm and surprised everyone (including our Masters and Grandmaster)!

She trained with us during the 7:30pm class and stretched us out Kathleen-style.

Unfortunately she is leaving tomorrow morning, so if you were to make class then you were lucky to catch her.

She is coming again and hopes to stay a little longer until she has to go back.

We wish her a safe trip to Boston and that she can make it back soon!
