Happy Halloween – We Are Closed

Friday, October 31st, 2014

All classes from 5:30pm and further are cancelled for today! We wish every a Happy and Safe holiday with some reminders for our students and their families that we have been mentioning throughout the week.

When going out to “Trick or Treat”:

-Travel in groups with your parents/guardians close by.

-Do NOT enter a stranger’s house even if they ask you to come in to receive candy.

-Wear indicator highlights on clothes and keep track of cars on the road.

-Do not eat candy until you get home, especially if it is not wrapped.

-Make sure there are no razors or anything unusual with the candy (have a guardian help look through them)

-Try not to overload on candy because of the cavities and dentist visits that will come afterwards.

Have a wicked Happy Halloween!

Gianmarco is leaving for Orlando!

Thursday, October 30th, 2014

One of our 2nd Dan Black Belts is leaving to go into UCF in Orlando. Gianmarco and his family are moving and their last day with us was today! We had a party after the 7:30pm class with pizza and wished him the best of luck. Him, and his two sisters started with us over six years ago. His two sisters (Cassandra and Giuliana) went on to pursue their interest in soccer, but he continued to train and reach the rank he is today. Not only is a dedicated student who comes everyday, but also comes in to help the 5:30pm and 6:30pm class when he has a chance. According to his parents him and his sisters have improved their focus, discipline and attitude at home and school. Their family was very happy with us and says it will be hard to find a martial art school in Orlando with the same family values. They will be coming back to visit during our Annual Holiday Party! We wish the Alegre Family the best wishes and blessings for the future and will miss them very much!

Congratulations to Our Certified Referees!

Monday, October 13th, 2014

Congratulations to Benjamin Beinhorn and Mrs. Thuy Shutt for their certification during our Referee Seminar on Saturday! They did an excellent job learning and reviewing the rules and regulations to our upcoming Annual KoAmMuDo Competition on November 8th. We also thank them for their participation and support! Each of our referees will have shirts identifying them should anyone need assistance. They are our family from different schools and work to help make this family event memorable and joyful!

Congratulations to Master Maria Zavalakos on her certification to Rank A! She helped during the seminar to instruct our instructors and beginners of her experience as a referee. Also, she included in this year’s manual with pictures of each of the important signals used this year. She and all the other referees are greatly looking forward to this exciting coming event!

For our Black Belts and Instructors who were unable to make the seminar, you were missed. We are reviewing the rules during our practices on Saturday and Sunday for those who have missed out. In this way, there is experience gained before competition.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the Competition on November 8!

Congratulations to our Students Participating in Special Training!

Monday, October 13th, 2014

We have new students joining us for competition and are welcoming more! Currently we are over 17 students and counting. They are dedicated to their success and so are their families! We went over sparring rules and how our new point system works. We brainstormed breaking for the students and will be finalizing them during the coming weekend so parents will know what their child is competing in. We had them practicing form and weapons and the details they are to pay attention to. We are very excited to see their progress and look forward to the next special training! Good luck and until next time!
