Finished First Week of 2015!

Friday, January 9th, 2015

We have completed our first week in 2015 and off to a great start! Most of our students have received their belts. If you have not already, please check in with our office so we can have you up-to-date.

This week we had back sweeps, front sweeps, knife defense, weapons, and drills. It was a very active week covering basics yet having fun with it. We look forward to see our students for the coming weeks and wish everyone good luck on their first weeks of classes in school!

Master Kathleen was here and now gone again

Wednesday, January 7th, 2015

If you were keeping up with our previous announcements then you would know Master Kathleen was here on Monday and Tuesday. She is a 4th Dan Black Belt and has been with us a very long time since she was eight years old. Before, she had taught the 5:30pm and 6:30pm with Master Maria and is a wonderful part of the USMA Family. Our students who have been here long enough miss her and do not want her to leave.

But even though she has left today (back to Boston); she always returns to train and teach when she has a chance. We are missing her already and wish her good luck in all her endeavors! We look forward to seeing her again when she comes back to the area.

First Day! Special Visits! Promotion to New Class!

Tuesday, January 6th, 2015

We had our first day in class and already we had a special visit from our Master Kathleen Duffy. She came all the way from Boston to train with us yesterday. Unfortunately, her last class is today and she will be leaving Florida on Wednesday for work. We were so happy to see her and will miss her as we look forward to seeing her again soon!

Darren, one of our purple belts, came back from University of Florida, and we be moving back to the area. Therefore, he will be training with us and we will be seeing more of him now! We welcome him back and look forward to training with him again!

Matthew, one of our 3rd Dan Black Belts, has been promoted to the 7:30pm class since his turning of 14 years old. This class goes beyond: it applies the basics of previous classes and introduces self-defense more with partner practices, more weapons, hapkisul basics, and much more. Also, it has the most requirements out of all the classes requiring more concentration and focus. Congratulations to Matthew, and good luck on his continued journey!

What a wonderful way to start the New Year!
