Black Belt Tea Ceremony Was Today!

Wednesday, December 19th, 2018

Today, December 19th Wednesday, is a very special day! It is the day we honor our Black Belts, and all who support them (their families, instructors, masters, and our Grandmaster) during our Black Belt Tea Ceremony through the passing of tea symbolizing honor, loyalty, and union.

Not only our current students came but our past ones came to visit. Many of them left because they moved to different cities, went to college, or had to start new jobs straining their schedules. We understand and always welcome them back as family!

A Special Thanks to Benjamin Beinhorn, Seth Budoff-Kingsland, Alexis Durrance, Sydney Durrance, John Lacy, The Norberto Family, Karla and Marcos Rivera, Mrs. Thuy Shutt for coming to see us again!

Congratulations to our Master Brennen Dunn-Heimer on his new rank as Master and also to Alan Pham on becoming a new Instructor!

From December 20th Thursday through January 4th Friday we will be CLOSED for the Winter Break! We will OPEN for class on Monday, January 7th!

Congratulations on All Who Have Tested! Black Belt Tea Ceremony Tomorrow!

Tuesday, December 18th, 2018

Congratulations to all who have tested, especially our Masters Moshe Adler and Maria Zavalakos for their 6th Dan 3rd Gup! And congratulations to our Instructor Lucas Maltese on his Deputy 3rd Dan!

Many students of all ages and ranks tested and our Grandmaster and Robert Zavalakos were impressed with their progress. We had asked some of our parents to speak on behalf of their children, and they showered compliments not only of their child but their classmates as well.

Here at USMA, we measure a person’s progress in overall; when it comes not only by their technique, but improvement in their capability in themselves with their confidence, precision, and building of character.

Congratulations! Tomorrow, Dec 19th, Wednesday, we will be having our Black Belt Tea Ceremony at 6pm! Please come join us as we recognize our black belts on the next chapter of their martial art experience!

Because of the Black Belt Tea Ceremony, we will be awarding Belts and Certificates on January 7th, Monday, when we return from our Winter Break.

Our Last Testing of the Year is Today!

Tuesday, December 18th, 2018

Our last testing of 2018 is here, Tuesday, December 18th! We will be starting at 6pm!

Please come early because of parking, time to stretch, and having the last opportunity to practice your requirements before examination.

We ask that our Masters and Instructors come 20-30 minutes earlier to help with set up and reviewing with the students.

Good luck!

Congratulations to Everyone Who Attended Our Curriculum Seminar

Sunday, December 9th, 2018

Congratulations to all those who attended our KoAmMuDo Masters and Instructors seminar, whether it was to certify or review the curriculum.

Special congratulations to Brennen Dunn-Heimer on his Masters certification and Alan Pham on his Instructor certification! They will both be awarded in December since they have been putting in their teaching hours for the last 3 years.

We have many up and coming 2nd Dan who have attended seminars but are not yet 3rd Dan to qualify. However, their participation brings them one step closer to certifying when they obtain their 3rd Dan Belt.

Thank you to our Masters for their continued support during this event!

Master and Instructor Seminar Today! (PART 2)

Saturday, December 8th, 2018

Today, December 8th Saturday, we are having our second seminar, Part 2 of 2 from 11:30am-12:30pm!

Last weekend we covered basics from forms, block and punch, philosophy and more! This week we cover weapon basics and going over the forms of these weapons!

In order to certify both seminars need to be attended. See you soon!

Amazing Seminar!

Sunday, December 2nd, 2018

Our first seminar of two parts went amazing over the weekend! All our Masters and Instructors participated. We covered the basic curriculum of block and punch, forms, philosophy, and more. During this session everyone was given the latest updated manual of weapons courtesy of Master Maria. She and two instructors compiled basics of Nunchaku techniques, JangBong techniques, Gun Defense, and Sword Kum Sul.

As a reminder, in order to properly certify as either Master or Instructor, both sessions will need to be attended.

See you for the next one on Dec 8th, Saturday! Same time of 11:30am to 12:30pm!
