The USMA offers several different types of martial arts memberships that range from a 6 month membership to a 36 month Black Belt Club Membership. On occasion, the USMA has a risk-free 2 week trial special for a very affordable price. We urge you to visit us, check out our facilities, meet our Grandmaster, masters and instructors, our students and parents. The USMA is the founding school of the World Ko Am Mu-Do Federation, and a member school of Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Federation, U.S. Taekwondo Union, USA Taekwondo Club, and various other martial arts organizations.

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the U.S. Martial Arts Academy is to empower individuals with the positive benefits of martial arts training. Through a unique blend of traditional martial arts and modern self-defense techniques, we are committed to providing students the means with which to defend themselves from harm as well as to give them health, happiness, and mental and emotional harmony.

What do we teach our Juniors?

Here at the USMA, we teach a mixed martial art system called Ko Am Mu-Do, a brilliant integration of Olympic and Traditional Styles of Taekwondo (the art of the hand, foot, and spirit), Hapkido (the art of coordinated energy), Judo ("softness defeats hardness"), Jiujitsu (the art of yielding self-defense), and weapon training. In addition to training in Olympic-style Taekwondo, we teach various other grappling arts.

Our martial arts instruction for juniors involves 2 primary areas of development: Character Development and Physical Development. For Character Development, we use martial arts as a vehicle to get to our ultimate destination of Black Belt Excellence - a Value System that emphasizes Discipline, Leadership, Respect, Confidence, a Solid Work Ethic, a Positive Character, a Motivated Spirit through goal-setting and achievement, and Compassion. In addition, we use a proprietary system called the Excellence Reinforcement System to reinforce positive behavior and to instill in our members the Black Belt Excellence Value System. We strongly believe that the characteristics of our Value System are essential for shaping the future leaders of our world. Results have been overwhelmingly successful. (Read our Testimonials)

The Physical and Self-Defense Development we provide our juniors focuses on defending against potentially dangerous situations. We do this by developing their coordination, flexibility, strength, bio-mechanics and speed. We achieve these results by way of fun and exciting martial arts training that encompasses 4 different types of martial arts, weapon training, and gymnastic/acrobatic training. Once our juniors earn their red belts, or turn 12, they begin to get focused training in Taekwondo, 4 types of weapons, hapki-do grappling and pressure points, jiujitsu escape and attack maneuvers, submission fighting, advanced kicking, breaking and sparring techniques, and advanced judo techniques (i.e. falling, rolling, throwing techniques). This advanced system arms our students with the most effective self-defense system ever created.

What do we teach our Adults?

All adult students will be taught our full Ko Am Mu-Do curriculum, which includes Olympic and Traditional style Taekwondo, traditional Hapkido and Judo, knife-defense manuevers, weapons training, and cardiovascular workouts. The Ko Am Mu-Do curriculum is an extensive one, to say the least. An example of one of our many grappling sequences is shown below.

Additionally, all instruction takes place within the context of the ancient ways of traditional Korean martial arts, emphasizing a Value System of strict discipline, hierarchy, and respect. We also focus on the philosophical and spiritual aspect of Korean martial arts.

To master each belt's requirements, the student must have exceptional mental discipline and a Yes I Can! attitude; it gets physically and mentally grueling at times. You might not be as physically fit as a triathlete, but you can achieve Black Belt Excellence with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow in martial arts. Our Ko Am Mu-Do curriculum is designed so that students of ALL shapes, sizes, and age can excel and achieve Black Belt Excellence. Whether you are looking to lose weight and tone your body, or to become a martial arts Master, you've visited the right institution. Click Here for Benefits of Ko Am Mu-Do.

Private Martial Arts Instruction

Do you have unconventional working hours? Can’t make the afternoon and evening classes? Want additional one-on-one training before the upcoming competition or testing?

The USMA offers private martial arts instruction by the hour or as a monthly package. Private instruction is available with a USMA Master or Grandmaster Jin Chung. To be sure, private instruction is intense, focused, and at times grueling. Simply put, you get what you pay for, and more.

Other students who particularly enjoy one type of martial art, out of the several that we teach here at USMA, have focused in on that one area. For instance, a student wanted to focus his effort into Olympic-style Tae Kwon Do sparring, and after several months of private instruction, went on to become a success in the national tournament circuit.

Our private instruction programs will also provide the student the means to obtain official certification from the two most renowned and recognized martial arts degree-granting institutions in the world: the World Ko Am Mu-Do Federation and the Kukkiwon located in Seoul, Korea.
